A personal finance app — accounts, cash flow, calendar and an AI assistant — designed and built end to end.
§01 Overview
What it is
Behold Money is a personal finance application: connected accounts, net worth, cash flow, a money calendar, transaction history and an assistant that answers questions about your own spending. It is my own product, built to the same standard as client work.
§02 The challenge
What makes it hard
Personal finance apps fail at the first screen. They either demand every account be connected before showing anything, or they present a wall of charts that answers no question a person actually has. The hard problem is making a financial position legible in the five seconds before someone closes the app.

What I built

Designed the workspace around one question — what is safe to spend — rather than a dashboard of every available metric.

Built account grouping, cash-flow summaries, a transaction calendar and recurring-item tracking.

Added a themeable interface, including a full light mode, because finance apps are used in daylight.

Built the assistant as a guided surface with real starting points instead of an empty chat box.
- 05
Built and shipped the marketing site alongside the product.
A working application and marketing site, currently in development ahead of a public release.
No performance figures are published for this project. I only put a number on a page when the client has measured it and agreed to it being shown.
